http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=7264 Summary: make <% start a bogus comment Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: PC OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: HTML5 spec bugs AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org ReportedBy: annevk@opera.com QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: ian@hixie.ch, hsivonen@iki.fi, mike@w3.org, public- html@w3.org Apparently both WebKit and Trident make <% start a bogus content. The interwebs depends on this and since it is really trivial to make the HTML parser do this I think we should add it. It should of course be an error, etc. Examples: http://www.lex24.ilsole24ore.com/Redazione/Riforma_cpc/Riforma.html http://brand.icxo.com/htmlnews/2007/07/11/919666_1.htm http://yuanyunfu.artron.net/exhibi_2.php?aid=A0000016&wrkid=BRT000000033876 http://blog.pewitt.org/CommentView,guid,56fbd9c0-6c0b-4773-abb7-dafb40fae8a7.aspx -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the QA contact for the bug.
