https://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=23561 Bug ID: 23561 Summary: more tags should be allowed inside <label> Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: All Status: NEW Severity: enhancement Priority: P2 Component: HTML5 spec Assignee: dave.null@w3.org Reporter: giorgio.liscio@email.it QA Contact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: mike@w3.org, public-html-admin@w3.org, public-html-wg-issue-tracking@w3.org hello, i think tags such as <div> or <p> should be allowed inside <label> i would consider it like <a>, a focusable area that is not necessarily just a span of text note: browsers didn't modify the parser yet to follow the spec so the following syntax is in fact still allowed and functioning <label> <div>test</div> <input type="text"> </label> (tested all msies 6+, firefox, webkit based browsers) so, spec could be changed to follow the implementations. what do you think? I don't have an use case, but i think it's very common the usage of <div>, for example, inside <label>, especially for form styling -- You are receiving this mail because: You are on the CC list for the bug.
