Do you mean the next WG Weekly meeting rather than "the next F2F" meeting? While Cox supports the process of separating VTT specific APIs from the more generic TextTrackCue API, we oppose certain changes that introduce backward compatibilities, including: (1) the removal of the TextTrackCue constructor; (2) the removal of the text attribute; (3) the removal of the getCueAsHTML() operation; We note that these members are in active use by the industry and that this change creates an unacceptable backwards incompatibility that has not been adequately considered by the HTML WG. If there is a desire to make such a change, we suggest that a Bug be filed by the proponents along with a Change Proposal that lays out the case for such a change. If and when such a CP appears, we will be happy to provide a Zero Change Proposal counter-proposal to such a change.
