Colleagues: The HTML-A11Y Task Force has reached consensus (with objections) on the following resolution: RESOLUTION: The HTML-A11Y Task Force confirms that ARIA-DescribedAT will not be ready for HTML 5 in HTML 5's currently published timeframe, and therefore reaffirms its support of Laura's authored CP to reinstate longdesc (Issue-30). Objections received can be found at: http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2012Mar/0422.html http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2012Mar/0425.html http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-html-a11y/2012Apr/0006.html Aside from the fact that these three objections address different concerns, it is clear that a significant majority of the Task Force understands that ARIA-DescribedAT will not be available to HTML 5, and that the Task Force consensus continues to support reinstating longdesc, fully conforming, in HTML 5 (Issue-30).
