Colleagues: In the wake of several years activity around both long and short alternative text support for HTML 5, and especially in support of recent work aimed at restoring to HTML an acceptable mechanism in support of long descriptions, the Protocols and Formats Working Group has developed a set of requirements for such a mechanism. PF has resolved to forward these requirements to the Task Force for its consideration in the expectation that they can help address many of the concerns that have been voiced concerning longdesc in the HTML-WG. The following PF Resolution is logged at: http://www.w3.org/2011/03/30-pf-minutes.html RESOLUTION: Forward http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Verbose_desc_reqs to HTML A11y TF as a PFWG recommendation -- Janina Sajka, Phone: +1.443.300.2200 sip:janina@asterisk.rednote.net Chair, Open Accessibility janina@a11y.org Linux Foundation http://a11y.org Chair, Protocols & Formats Web Accessibility Initiative http://www.w3.org/wai/pf World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
