No formal data, no, but if you browse the Web you'll quickly see that most images are either presentational (alt=""), or logos, or text in buttons or links, etc. Very few are actually interesting. Even on pages where you'd think there were interesting images, they're in the minority -- e.g. a Flickr page has on the order of 20 images only one of which is really an image from the user's perspective. 2.
