http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=10642 --- Comment #27 from Ashley Ward <ash@netality.com> 2010-10-01 09:03:14 UTC --- (In reply to comment #26) > This > also applies to the first frame displayed if no explicit poster frame is > provided. Since it's either this first frame or the explicitly linked image, > covering them both the same way makes sense. The trouble with providing poster alt text when no explicit poster image is given is that we can't be sure that the UA will choose the first frame. It may choose the middle frame, or the first non-blank frame. If the poster alt text is given but it does not match the UA chosen poster image then this is probably worse than having no alt text at all (although not being an AT user myself I'm happy to be corrected!) The only way around this, I suppose, would be to specify the exact algorithm for choosing an automatic poster frame, but I'm certain that's a bad idea! -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
