Your Task Force Facilitators are keenly aware that much of our organizational work to date has not been visible to you. Meanwhile, we know people are eager to get started working on HTML A11y issues under the TF. So, this brief email will summarize what we've been doing to get the TF organized and what you can expect in the near term. * Teleconferences If you HAVE NOT yet completed the teleconference survey and indicated your preferred times for our telephonic meetings, you have until 23:59 Boston Time this Friday, 20 November to so do: http://www.w3.org/2002/09/wbs/44061/200911_scheduling/ We will announce our teleconference day and time during the week of 23 November. Because of the Thanksgiving Holliday in the U.S. this coming week, our first teleconference will be sometime during the week of 30 November. * Wiki Meanwhile, our Wiki is now available. Please help populate it! http://www.w3.org/WAI/PF/HTML/wiki/Main_Page * Subteams We already have an active group working on HTML Canvas Accessibility. In the next few days we expect to work with the HTML Media Accessibility Subteam to help get that activity moving forward. As you will recall, this Subteam got a great start during a daylong "Gathering" at Stanford University just ahead of TPAC: http://www.w3.org/2009/11/01-media-minutes.html The Canvas Subteam already has a teleconference time and an active email list. We expect there will be similar working resources established for HTML Media Accessibility--as well as any other subteams we may establish during the course of our work. * Tracker Michael Cooper will be setting up tracker support for our TF so that we can better track our issues and assigned actions. -- Janina Sajka, Phone: +1.202.595.7777; sip:janina@CapitalAccessibility.Com Partner, Capital Accessibility LLC http://CapitalAccessibility.Com Marketing the Owasys 22C talking screenless cell phone in the U.S. and Canada Learn more at http://ScreenlessPhone.Com Chair, Open Accessibility janina@a11y.org Linux Foundation http://a11y.org Chair, Protocols & Formats Web Accessibility Initiative http://www.w3.org/wai/pf World Wide Web Consortium (W3C)
