http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/show_bug.cgi?id=8187 Summary: Section 4.8.7 on video makes no reference to audio description Product: HTML WG Version: unspecified Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Keywords: a11y Severity: normal Priority: P1 Component: HTML5 spec bugs AssignedTo: dave.null@w3.org ReportedBy: kelly.ford@microsoft.com QAContact: public-html-bugzilla@w3.org CC: ian@hixie.ch, mike@w3.org, public-html@w3.org, public- html-a11y@w3.org Section 4.8.7 on the video element makes a couple references to accessibility. However neither of these references talk at all about audio description, a key component of making video contnet accessible to people who are blind. Specific references where audio description should be referenced include: In particular, this content is not intended to address accessibility concerns. To make video content accessible to the blind, deaf, and those with other physical or cognitive disabilities, authors are expected to provide alternative media streams and/or to embed accessibility aids (such as caption or subtitle tracks) into their media streams. User agents should provide controls to enable or disable the display of closed captions associated with the video stream, though such features should, again, not interfere with the page's normal rendering. -- Configure bugmail: http://www.w3.org/Bugs/Public/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
