Great! Let's set up a meeting on Friday May 25th at 8:30 AM Eastern.

I am assuming we have a booking on Zakim at that time. Does anyone have info on
that?

Thanks,

---Vipul

Vipul,

Both proposed times works fine for me. Also our normal time for DSE, Friday 8:30
is fine.

Cheers,

Bosse

		Thanks Vipul,

		I did a lot of research around NCI's CDE/caDSR and the ISO1179
model during a couple of years ago, but have not come across this paper before.
Have just very quickly browsed through it. Seems to be reporting problems both
on the concepts definitions derived from NCI Thesaurus (NCIt) and on the
structure, such as the lack of a mechanism to specify relationships between
CDE:s.

I am part of the CDISC / RCRIM Controlled Terminology (CT) team
that use CDE/caDSR in a bit strange way to represent their CT:s and I have also
raised concerns around the concepts definitions they apply from NCIt for CDISC
CT:s that mix up the concept for the observation as such and the medical
phenomenon observered. It will be interesting to read the paper and see if they
report similar problems.

Also, the lack of good support for specifying relationships
between CDE:s in the ISO11179 model and the lack of good support for variants /
configurations in the implementations of the model such as NCI's, were
identified in our early work. And lead us to extend the model with a
superstructure to support composed/decomposed Observation Structures fod
different clinical relevant Observation Types and their Concepts. We have also
been applying the general software pattern of facades to support variants /
configuration management.

These were some of the topics I kind of alluded to in our
discussion the after evening.

Bosse and I will talk more during our days here and get back to
you.

		Cheers

		Kerstin

			Kerstin,

Thanks for adding these links to the wiki. I have added
a paper that evaluates NCI common data elements.

Hi and thanks Viput for a good discussion today,

I started to update the page slighly but the connection
here is so slow so I will do it later then I have faster connection.

Anyhow, here are some of the stuff I mentioned today and
I wanted to add there:

More about the observation-fokused model behind SDTM's
20+ different data exchaange structures implemented for datasets:

The EDC / EHR intative I didn't remember the name of and
I am not well updated on is about an "integration profile" called Retrieve Form
for Data-capture (RFD)
