If you haven't already seen this <https://www.khronos.org/3dportability/>, it seems relevant to our direction. Indeed, they mention a Web3D tie in. I am also heartened to see both portability and computations as part of the focus. Due to industry demand, Khronos is initiating the development of a solution to enable 3D applications that are portable across Vulkan, DX12 and Metal I use these features, heavily, in instructional design to support a BYOD, Bring Your Own Device, philosophy. This encourages students to carry out learning activities on their own familiar devices and helps get away from the mindset that education is tied only to schools and special hardware. Alex
