Hi all Thanks Bernadette for letting me report on this. Last March we organized the event [1] in Cuenca, Ecuador. Our goal was to promote Linked Data in Latin America, and gather the community we have there. We had a set of presenters from different parts of the world, and for this first edition many of the talks were presented online. We hope we can organize next year a new edition. The event went very well, it was an opportunity to identify all the people from Latin America that is involved in some way with the Linked Data community around the world. We, as Latin America Linked Data community, plan to create an organization that promotes the discussion, dissemination and research of Semantic Web technologies and Linked Data in Latin America. This space is open to research/academic communities, social, commercial, and governmental organizations. We have an initial web site here [2]. We know there are other Latin America efforts in this area, and my idea is to try to align all of them if possible. I do not know if we can create this association under the umbrella of a big organization, e.g., W3C, OKFN. All the members of the association need to discuss about it. Any ideas, suggestions, are more than welcome. Thanks!
