Hi Sandro, Bernadette, George, I will attend in person. There are two topics I want to present on: Best Practices for Publishing Linked Data Looking at how people are using and extending existing vocabularies, I want to highlight some common mistakes we have been observing. The reason to focus on the current practices and issues is to use this information to help us understand areas where people need guidance and advice. I believe this will be a useful input to creating the cookbook. Vocabularies We, at TopQuadrant, have done some work on defining metadata for ontologies. The reason for the work was to support our own modeling and publishing efforts. I want to present VAEM - Vocabulary for Attaching Essential Metadata and VOAG - Vocabulary Of Attribution and Governance. We use VOAG to publish ontology catalogs. It supports specifying licensing, attribution, provenance and governance of an ontology. VOAG captures many common license types and their restrictions. It provides resources that allow the attribution to be made and includes a minimal model of governance based on how issues, releases and changes are managed. VOAG makes uses of some concepts from VOID (http://vocab.deri.ie/void), notably void:Dataset. The provenance aspects of VOAG will be factored into a new ontology VOEP (or VAEP) which will be aligned with the work of the W3C Provenance Group. We'd like to make sure the attendance list is correct and make sure group members have the necessary information. The meeting is June 29th and 30th, in Arlington, Virginia. Please reply to this email with your answer. The agenda: http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/F2F1 The venue: http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/F2F1 In addition to the current members of the Working Group, we have invited as guests several people who we hope/expect will be joining in the coming weeks. If you'll be attending in person, please let us know as the room's seating capacity is about 30 people and we want to ensure everyone is comfortable. If you'll be attending remotely, please let us know so we can be sure to reserve the right number of ports. Call in details will be on the agenda page. This is important work and we hope that you will consider sharing your technical expertise and/or government business use cases to support this Working Group's Deliverables: http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/charter#deliverables Please take a serious look at those deliverables and please pick one or two items on which you'd be able to give a 10-minute presentation, helping people understand that topic. If you can do this, please email us at team-gld-chairs@w3.org with your proposed topic (2-4 sentences is fine) & specify which deliverable(s) it maps to no later than Saturday, June 25th. If you are a vendor, please keep in mind that a sales pitch is not appropriate at a standards working group. However, if you are a solutions provider who offers a product/project that could be used to create one (or more) of the deliverables, AND you are willing to provide that solution to the members of the working group at no charge, you are welcome to describe the offering, in relation to a specific deliverable. Important dates: Please send your topic(s) and a few thoughts to the chairs at team-gld-chairs@w3.org no later than Saturday 25 June 2011. Slides for 10 minute presentations should be made available via a Web accessible link no later than Monday 27 June 2011. The links will be listed on the F2F wiki, http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/wiki/F2F1#Links_to_Presentations Reference links: The working group's home page is http://www.w3.org/2011/gld The charter is here, http://www.w3.org/2011/gld/charter -- Sandro Hawke, W3C staff contact, on behalf of Bernadette Hyland, group co-chair and George Thomas, group co-chair
