Bernadette, > Thank you Michael for getting us set up with Mercurial and the > initial W3C spec writing tool. Sandro did the hard work re setting up the hg repo; I just happened to slap the ED in it ;) > Two links others may find useful getting started is with mercurial is: > http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-rdf-wg/2011Jun/0012.html > and http://hginit.com/ True. Just one thing: I recommend doing 'hg pull' *before* you start editing and/or committing; so you always have the latest version to work against with. > Also, I'd like to also serve as Editor on the Best Practices > Deliverable. I added you already, now [1]. > What are your thoughts on linking this to the wiki or does the task > force iterate initially together & then go to the GLD WG for further > input? Well, very simple, really: the WG discusses, WG members send in stuff via the mailing list or the Wiki [2] (I'm watching this space; you can do it as well by selecting the 'watch' tab and get notifications when someone changes something). Of course people may directly edit the ED but I guess should only do it when they feel comfortable with HTML editing and the hg stuff. It might save the Editors time but also might lead to more work ;) What is essential, in my opinion, is that we 1. keep editing all the time (release early, release often) and 2. capture all relevant issues (such as I've just done with ISSUE-1 [3]). This allows the WG as a whole and more importantly the chairs to keep track of what is going on - you can believe me, something, after some months you really want to make sure you have a good policy in place.
