Dear Games Community Group, You were born out of the discussions of a group of people [1] passionate about games development and Web technologies, who gathered next to the onGameStart conference to discuss features of the Web platform that would be particularly relevant for the development of Web games, if only they existed. The report of this short workshop is available at: http://www.w3.org/2011/09/games/ You came to life equipped with: - No less than 4 mailing-lists of which this one, the public-games@w3.org mailing-list (with public archives [2]), is likely going to be the main communication channel of the group. - A WordPress blog where participants can write their thoughts and share news: http://www.w3.org/community/games/ - A Wiki for collaborative edition: http://www.w3.org/community/games/wiki/ - An IRC chat on W3C IRC server for live exchanges: irc://irc.w3.org:6665/#games - A tracking tool to track group issues and actions: http://www.w3.org/community/games/track/ To move forward, you're going to need one or more chairs. You should also probably refine your scope in some kind of charter to ensure discussions remain focused and fruitful. I wish you a long and happy life. Beware, the world can be tough! Francois.
