I like to ask that conversation happens on the public-fx mailing list
for issues which directly affect SVG, such as features that originated
in SVG (including 'pointer-events', filter effects, transforms, and
animation), properties that have different or special values or effects
for SVG, or things in which both groups have a common interest (such as
gradients and other paint servers, and animation). Obviously, you could
CC either the SVG or CSS mailing lists, but cross-posting can be
frustrating.

The CSS mailing list has very high traffic, and I don't think I'm alone
in saying I don't have time to monitor it for these common issues; by
contrast, public-fx is rather low-traffic, and anyone interested can
join this list. While I respect the preferences of the spec editors
with regards to their workflow, coordination on these issues is vitally
important. A lack of communication on the part of both groups lead to
incompatibilities or misunderstandings in the past, and the risk of
reverting to that is too high. We have made great progress in improving
our communication, so let's please keep that up.
