John & all, The examples are really good, but I personally think that the 'Alternate Version of Operation' is going to confuse people who quickly read through the spec, if the alternative is not really an 'alternative version' in some border cases (e.g.: if the parent has no children, when the operation is executed). I know that this is pointed out in the beginning of every example, but I think it will be a bit more clear if we move the part 'The alternate version of the operation ...' of the note to a separate note after the alternative version.
