Re: Q: Where can I find this Community Group’s announcements, meeting agendas, and discussions? [via Font and Text Community Group]

You know, in addition to “work”, I actually hope all discussions also happen on GitHub, with a repo’s issues system (such as a to-be-created https://github.com/font-text/community-group/issues <https://github.com/font-text/community-group/issues>) being used as a forum.

Mailing lists are just horrible to use, especially for browsing messages produced before one’s subscription (then one has to painfully dig into the web archive). A public GitHub repo’s issues system is more open, usable, and discoverable for everyone. I hope we can reserve this mailing list for, say, important announcements that we want to reach as many as possible participants—then we could make an announcement on GitHub first then email the link and a summary to this list.

Fyi, I may be able to create our GitHub repo or organization as soon as tomorrow, once Florian becomes available to give Simon and me a crash course on chairing a W3C CG. I don’t want to accidentally breach some W3C policies by creating a repo on my own without Florian’s guidance.
