Yes, and Google etc. BTW: They employ people who are very well aware of the issues. Quite a few of the interesting standards were developed by those people. And some relevant standards are supported by these companies to some extent. At the same time promising standards are being developed and currently are used by a only a very small number of people but which very likely will be used more widely in the not-so-distant future. (Example: the Linked Data standard JSON-LD). Cheers, Andreas
