Update: FedID CG Kick-off call, 2 August 2021

Hello CG members,

Did you know we’re up to 88 CG members as of this morning? Thank you, everyone!

We had a kick-off call today (time selected as a result of an earlier doodle poll). I will be moving the notes over to our repository shortly, but a few key things first:

0 - I will be sending out two doodle polls to find alternating hemisphere-friendly time slots for future calls.

1 - We have two of our three chairs sorted: I’ll be chair, Tim Cappalli (Microsoft) as one of the co-chairs. I am looking for a second co-chair that can represent an RP background and who is prepared to help facilitate group activities going forward. If you are interested, please let me know!

2 - After some good discussion, we’re set for the charter for now. It’s not perfect, and we will definitely want to come back to it in a year to see if the scope is still appropriate. We’re going to be a very pragmatic group for the next year, focusing on immediate issues like third-party cookies. I very much hope that we will move past that into more complicated areas by our one-year anniversary.

3 - Both chair and charter will be reviewed in one year.

4 - We’re making some modifications to our GitHub space; we’ll be turning it into an org with repositories as opposed to a single repository. As soon as that’s done, we’ll get the meeting notes posted there for public record as well as have space for things like the browser scenarios library and approved work items.
