All, In the recent past we discussed possible solutions to support JSON representation in EXI (as mentioned in our charter[1]). We also got in touch with the XQuery/XSLT activities since "a" JSON-to-XML mapping has found its way into XPath 3.1. The shared understanding of these discussions was that defining our own mapping is easier for both groups. That said, I uploaded a first version of the "EXI for JSON" document [2]. This includes some rough ideas how transforming data between EXI and JSON might look like. Moreover, it includes an XML schema [3] targeted for "EXI for JSON" documents. Please have a look at the schema and the general concept and provide feedback.
