:) Yes we have progressed... The situation is the following: - we ideantified an OWL model to be used as a "Foundational Agricultural Ontology" (aos.owl) available here: http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/ - we have prepared some sample OWL modules and we will soon prepare the full agrovoc. Here below some examples (relationships between concepts bot yet available in the modules below, will be soon) http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/food http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/health http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/policies http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/plant_nutrition http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/rice http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/science - classifications schemes incorporated in the OWL model: http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/asc/ - URI redirection ongoing (some available) e.g. http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/agrovoc/c_34338 http://www.fao.org/aims/aos/agrovoc%23c_34338 more atill to do - web services in SKOS and export in SKOS ongoing - Concerning the relationships refinement (also as mentioned in Soergel) we are working with experts in India to manually revise them. Also we are working within the NeOn project and the corresponding institutions to help terminologist and thesaurus managers on automatically refine relationships... ongoing... - I also have a full agrovoc OWL, but this correspond to the old model (done years ago, 2005) not following the so called "Foundational Agricultural Ontology" (aos.owl) in any case available here: ftp://ftp.fao.org/gi/gil/gilws/aims/kos/agrovoc_formats/owl In the same directory under concept-server-modules you can find some modules converted using the new approach. These are just tests, the real final conversion with refined relationships is planned for the summer. - Finally: working within NeOn we collaborated in the elaboration of a more generic linguistic model for ontologies called LIR (= Lexical Information repository)... Next release of the AGROVOC Concept Server Workbench will also coordinate with this new model. Hope this helps Regards Margherita -----Original Message----- From: sesuncedu@gmail.com [mailto:sesuncedu@gmail.com] On Behalf Of Simon Spero Sent: 18 March 2009 17:51 To: Sini, Margherita (KCEW) Cc: public-esw-thes@w3.org Subject: Re: Complete examples of SKOS? Is there an OWL rendering?
