These can indeed be very useful, for grammatical variations that not
handled in other ways, as well as for misspellings. The name of the
property might be a bit confusing however, as of course other kinds of
labels are also used in searching. As you say, the key defining factor
is that these alternative labels would not be displayed under normal
circumstances. So perhaps call it noDisplayLabel or hiddenLabel (or
something more elegant along those lines)?
