Slovakia putting datasets online... //Ed ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: Eric Mill <eric@sunlightfoundation.com> Date: Tue, Jul 6, 2010 at 11:05 AM Subject: [sunlightlabs] Slovakian Data Catalog launch To: sunlightlabs@googlegroups.com One of the devs, Stefan Urbanek, on this new data catalog for Slovakia called Datanest announced that it's officially "gone live" today: http://datanest.fair-play.sk/ Built on a general data catalog codebase called Datacamp: http://github.com/Stiivi/datacamp Datanest is an unofficial data catalog, run by an NGO called Fair Play Alliance. It looks like it's got a lot of data, but two major problems I see with it are: * The Copyright and Terms pages are lorem impsum's still, and those are important * No bulk data access. You have to register to gain access to an API, and then you have API access only, not bulk. It's a good start, though it looks like they launched a bit early, and the NGO in charge is exerting heavier control than I'd like to see. -- Eric -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "sunlightlabs" group.
