Subject: Advance Notice of W3C Workshop Related to XBRL

Dear Advisory Committee Representative,

W3C and XBRL International [1] are co-hosting a Workshop:

Interactive access to business and financial data
  22-23 June 2009
  Paris, France

The Workshop will be co-located with the 19th XBRL International
Conference at Le Meridien Montparnasse Conference Center.

The current global crisis spotlights the need for greater transparency
in
corporate reporting along with accurate and timely data. Governments,
too, are looking to improve transparency by putting large amounts of
government information into the public domain. The goal of this
Workshop will be to identify opportunities and challenges for
interactive
access to business and financial data expressed in XBRL.

We will send a more formal Call for Participation soon. Please contact
Dave Raggett <dsr@w3.org> with questions, or to express interest.

Thank you,

Ian Jacobs, Head of W3C Communications
