Re: canceling call today -- Re: [agenda] eGov IG call, 7 Jan 2009

Jose & All:

As you know, the U. S. Federal Reference Model Maintenance Process (RMMP)
is currently soliciting suggestions for revisions.

The RMMP is community based and organized by Architecture and
Infrastructure Commitee (AIC) members on behalf of the Office of
Management and Budget (OMB). W3C CAN have a voice in this process and I
encourage W3C to engage actively in the RMMP. Among other standards
organizations, the Object Management Group (OMG) through the leadership of
Richard Soley has already successfully influenced outcomes here.

Specifically, the data reference model (DRM) influences much of the
thinking within Federal agencies regarding issues central to W3C such as
Uniform Resource Indicators (URIs). I've already suggested changes to the
DRM based on Use Case 8 & Use Case 10. Like other political processes
here in Washington, DC active participation by a committed group of
constituents is what makes the difference on whether something gets
approved.

Best wishes,

Rick

canceling call today -- Re: [agenda] eGov IG call, 7 Jan 2009

All,

/me has the flu; very low energy. Chairs cannot make it for the whole
call and we also got several other regrets. Looks like today's not the
day, so we are canceling the call today.

Chairs will meet next week and next Group call should take place on 21
Jan with probably same agenda as sent for today's. We'll keep you
posted. Very sorry about this.

Please, keep on reviewing the draft note and sending use cases.
