ISSUE-33 (OMB-A119): add reference to OMB-A119 circular to role of standards in interop section [Interoperability] http://www.w3.org/2007/eGov/IG/track/issues/33 Raised by: Owen Ambur On product: Interoperability In the section on the role of standards -- http://www.w3.org/2007/eGov/IG/Group/docs/note#interop.what.standards -- it may be appropriate to cite OMB Circular A-119, which provides guidance to U.S. federal agencies with respect to "Federal Participation in the Development and Use of Voluntary Consensus Standards and in Conformity Assessment Activities": http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/circulars/a119/a119.html Perhaps this paragraph could be quoted or paraphrased: "Agencies must consult with voluntary consensus standards bodies, both domestic and international, and must participate with such bodies in the development of voluntary consensus standards when consultation and participation is in the public interest and is compatible with their missions, authorities, priorities, and budget resources." http://www.whitehouse.gov/omb/circulars/a119/a119.html#7
