Besides the definition of dataset series, we need to revise also the guidance section, to make it very clear that subsetting is just one of the possible cases of dataset series. About the section of property value inheritance, I think it would be worth reviewing it to see if some of the properties discussed there are specific to the dataset series itself, and not inherited from child dataset.
