@dr-shorthair Yes, I am aware that there are non-temporal uses of "series" in the world. Perhaps I misunderstood but I was under the impression that that there was an interest in defining time-based, ongoing resources, things that are considered to be "serial" in nature. Those pose some particular metadata requirements and afford certain services which users of DCAT may need. For "serial" resources the seriality is key; sharing metadata isn't what defines that type of relationship, as important metadata can change over time, for example when the organization providing the data changes name (as government offices tend to do).
