@agreiner It seems that many people (including myself) do not need it, but it matters to @rob-metalinkage and @nicholascar (as seen in https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/issues/290 indeed).

The good thing is that, with the merge of https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/pull/1063, the token mechanism now no longer interferes with anything else. It's a completely separate mechanism that can be ignored without consequence when the client or server wants to. So those who are not in favor of tokens are completely unaffected, which wasn't the case previously.
