Spec editing best practices, from tpac

I'd be interested to hear if anyone has experience with bikeshed[1]
which should be easier to use than raw respec. I've just had a glance at
it and it seems that it means keeping two copies of the spec while
editing: bikeshed as the edited one and the conversion to respec for the
public version.
