@aisaac I agree. It isn't yet clear to me that we need to define things like "formalism" - maybe it would be better to use words that are less ambiguous. So let's begin with having "profile" defined early on as part of our introduction, and drop the rest to the bottom of the document to be scrutinized when we get further along.
