@nichtich The examples in the 2014 specification are wrong. They are in section 4 which is non-normative. I created an issue for that at https://github.com/w3c/dxwg/issues/170. `dcat:mediaType` has a range of `dct:MediaTypeOrExtent`, identical to the range of `dct:format`, and this cannot be a literal text string. I would agree that it could have been done differently, and that it would have made it easier to use.
