@makxdekkers You are right in both points. >People will always implement a standard in their own way, maybe because of their (mis)understanding or maybe because their situation is a little different. I like your optimism. In my experience, people usually implement standards only to the minimum degree where no important users/decision makers complain. And decision makers usually complain only when there is a web page with something about their data written in red (i.e. validation errors), making them look bad. So for me, it is important to be able to validate as much as possible automatically, because I know that what cannot be validated automatically, will not get fixed/published right.
