DPV and International Data Transfers

Dear all,

As part of my Masters Degree in Data Protection and Privacy Law in DCU this year, I am carrying out a project into developing “A Compliance Model and Methodology for International Data Transfers linked to the DPV”.

If you have 5-10 minutes, and in any capacity involved in an organisation that transfers personal data internationally, I would appreciate your assistance by completing the questionnaire here: https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/dpvTransborderDataFlowSurvey1 <https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/dpvTransborderDataFlowSurvey1>

Closing date for the survey is Wed 31st March 2021.

Transfers of personal data outside the EEA are protected by the GDPR, but often these are difficult to identify, difficult to manage, lack a common vocabulary, and there are few if any tools available to help - and those that do exist are not interoperable.

This baseline questionnaire is deliberately general (indeed vague) in nature, and sets out to gather information (mostly in plain language) on some of the concepts and vocabulary around international data transfers. I would appreciate your input to help build up some use cases, develop concepts and vocabulary. All responses are anonymous.

You are more than welcome to share the link with others.

Many thanks in advance if you can help.

DAVID
