Greetings Lisa, thanks for your comments on the content selection last call [1]. As part of your response you state: <snip>DI Select does not require describing the content in order to adapt it to author specified scenarios.</snip> The DIWG assigned this comment the identifier Seeman-1. This mail documents DIWG's response to your comments. DIWG Response ============= We have declined this comment . . . This use case is not within the scope of those against which DISelect was developed. However, combinations of technologies such as XInclude together with DISelect might provide a solution. Future work planned by DIWG on semantic enrichment might provide an appropriate environment in which to pursue the notion of combination of DISelect with annotation metadata in providing solutions for such use cases. We will add some text in an appropriate overview section to clarify the scope and the fact that this markup is intended to be used within a larger set of modules that include markup capable of supporting semantic enrichment. By support of semantic enrichment we mean support of the XHTML 2 role attribute. [1] http://lists.w3.org/Archives/Public/public-diselect-editors/2005AprJun/0011.html Regards, Roland
