RE: [dpub] Summary document for our metadata discussion Monday

Hi Bill and Madi,

At today's meeting, I mentioned a few issues that I think we can draw out of these interviews so that the metadata TF can focus on issues that are especially relevant to the W3C.

Here is my list:
*Webby-ness of publishing metadata
*Governance/authority (dovetails w consistency)
*Metadata should make content more efficient - not be a burden
*How does metadata travel with content? How does metadata live with content? (This includes large categories, such as rights metadata)

With which groups would we need to interact? What are the specific hurdles to overcome? What am I overlooking?

Thanks,
Tzviya

I have converted the Word document to HTML, to which I have also added Bill's interviews. They are now at:

http://w3c.github.io/dpub-metadata/

with the source at:

The appendix to which there are a number of references (not included in this Word doc) consists currently mainly of the interview reports I did and the summary report of interviews Madi did that were on the wiki. You will have a chance to comment and contribute as soon as it's on GitHub, but I'd encourage you to read this in advance of the meeting--it's not long. Thanks!
