Just wanted to take a second to appreciate both Joe and Phil... I was finally adding a link to the DID use cases document: https://github.com/w3c/did-core/pull/774#issue-687242560 ... and went down a 45 minute rabbit hole reading it (again) and thinking... "This really is the best use cases document for any global standard that I've ever read."
