A quick un-scientific test: Nexus 7 tablet (JB) Galaxy Nexus Phone (ICS) Xolo Phone (ICS) Office lighting: ~550 lux ~170 ~700 Flash light (1"): ~40,000 ~12000 ~48,000 Thanks -----Original Message----- From: Doug Turner [mailto:dougt@mozilla.com] Sent: Sunday, August 26, 2012 8:46 PM To: Tran, Dzung D Cc: www-style@w3.org; public-device-apis@w3.org; Daniel Glazman Subject: Re: Next step for DAP Ambient Light Events I am not sure I follow what your worry is. Suppose we have a sensor who's range is only inside one of the defined 'types'. Implementation would still fire change notifications when the lux value changes. I don't know if it makes sense to map these values into "type". I think I would be okay with that as so long as it was an optional field of the event. We could start discussing that for our next level of Media Queries and have you involved to be sure it's consistent with the API. I'm not sure we need a joint effort here. What you think?
