I think that that is well understood, and I don't believe that anyone in the group wants to reinvent calendaring. However our core mission includes addressing internationalisation right, and if no one has done it before then we might just have to break new ground. Like accessibility, I18N is non-negotiable.

I'll talk to the I18N WG and see what they say, as per my action.
