thanks for your suggestion, I'll add the reference you indicated as informative. The MMSTO scheme is very similar to MAILTO, I don't think we need go into details.

(I assume there is no issue with making informative reference to OMA spec?)

Have you looked at the OMA URI schemes specification that specifies a set of technical requirements for a set of URI Schemes that are to be ubiquitous in the mobile environment? If you think that this is relevant you may consider a reference in section 7 of your specification.
