Re: [geolocation-sensor] Support geolocation (especially geofencing) in the "background" (#22)

In this thread both geofencing and broad location tracking were discussed as things that could be made available separately for different use cases, with geofencing likely meeting less scrutiny from implementers.

By saying 'extending foreground-acquired location' I assume you mean the app should continue working in the background while the user is doing anything else on their device. This is part of the problem and is why Wake Lock was thrown around a few times in the discussions.

But some use cases require reliable persistent location pings, using things like Service Workers to process/send the data. This is important for some use cases, for example, so truckers wouldn't have to make sure the browser is still running in the background if they close everything/reboot their device.
