I'm not starting this conversation over. I've asked you multiple times to point out ***normative*** issues with the current solution that this would solve. You haven't. I understand your concerns, they're quality of implementation concerns, which are good concerns to have, but which can't trump normative correctness of the spec. Again, if this is an issue dear to your heart, please feel free to help drive forward the related work in the HTML specs. I think we have spent enough time on this issue, and I'll kindly ask you not to continue this conversation further unless you have specific normative issues with the current text.
