We had a pretty long offline chat about this topic where @pozdnyakov and @alexshalamov shared a number of the architectural detail of the Blink implementation along with some of the constraints imposed by the underlying layers. This has shattered some of the assumptions I was basing my reasoning on. It affects my position around these issues in ways I still need to workout. I'll be merging that feedback into the spec within the upcoming weeks.
