I agree this is sad because Peter has put tremendous effort into this WG
but unfortunately the W3C has strict rules about who can be granted
invited expert status and in this case - where a company decides not to
renew its membership - it is a big NO-NO. :-(
I guess they don't want member organizations to think there is no
consequences to discontinuing their membership because their reps will be
able to continue to participate for free as IE.

As I mentioned on the working group call yesterday my membership in the
working group will terminate at the end of June as part of the termination
of
the membership of Nuance Communications in W3C.
