Quick Intro, details cf. http://www.polleres.net/ I joined the Institute of Information Business of Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU Wien) in Sept 2013 as a full professor in the area of "Data and Knowledge Engineering". Before joining WU Wien, I worked at University of Innsbruck, Austria, Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, Madrid, Spain, the Digital Enterprise Research Institute (DERI) at the National University of Ireland, Galway, and for Siemens AG's Corporate Technology Research division be. My interests are revolving around query languages, and reasoning about ontologies, rules languages, Semantic Web technologies in general and Linked Open Data in particular. I have actively contributed to W3C standardisation in the past where I co-deited several specs in the Rule Interchange Format WG, and co-chaired the W3C SPARQL working group. I also had been (not active though) monitoring the activities around RDB2RDF, plus we have submitted W3C member submissions for combining XQuery with SPARQL [1] (which we also used as a basis for an implementation of the direct mapping in the RDB2RDF WG [2] an RDF binary compression format [3]. Interest in the group: - leverageing SPARQL for CSV on the Web - use cases from aggregating Open Data from different sources, e.g. http://2014.data-forum.eu/person/axel-polleres-stefan-bischof-and-herwig-schreiner 1. http://www.w3.org/Submission/2009/01/ 2. http://www.w3.org/2001/sw/rdb2rdf/implementation-report/ 3. http://www.w3.org/Submission/2011/SUBM-HDT-20110330/
