This test: http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20101001/html4/table-valign-001.htm http://test.csswg.org/suites/css2.1/20101001/xhtml1/table-valign-001.xht is incorrect. Conformant implementations are required to fail, because 17.5.3 says: "In CSS 2.1, the height of a cell box is the maximum of the table cell's 'height' property and the minimum height required by the content (MIN)." and then describes how vertical alignment involves adjusting the vertical positions of the cell boxes relative to each other. -David -- L.
