While I think this is a legitimate use case, at least this example: > * 1635 https://www.nb.no/items/3a460f00e32dca15d2af6353d42689eb?page=19 doesn't actually show "marks being used on each line". The marks are not aligned with the lines of text, and there are not even the same number of marks as "marked" lines. It's more like the sidebar is being filled with "ditto" marks to indicate the extent of the text that the reference relates to, but it's not on a line-by-line basis.
