Can you explain in more detail how [`optical-sizing: auto`](https://drafts.csswg.org/css-fonts/#font-optical-sizing-def) does not achieve what you are expecting? In the majority of cases, the typeface designer and font technician will know better than the style author how `opsz` should be applied, so leaving this to a simple opt-in sounds like a reasonable choice for CSS to make. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Crissov Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13331#issuecomment-3737810461 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
