Point taken re `parental()`. I’m fine with `parent()` or even `parent-value()` and possibly alternative suggestions. I also want to [point out again](https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/2864#issuecomment-3727247766) that MathML has already introduced the function `add()` to CSS, which is [now widely supported](https://wpt.fyi/results/mathml/relations/css-styling/parsing/math-depth-computed.html?label=master&label=experimental&aligned&q=math-depth). It is currently limited to the `math-depth` property and an integer argument, but could probably be generalized to all numeric property values. -- GitHub Notification of comment by Crissov Please view or discuss this issue at https://github.com/w3c/csswg-drafts/issues/13426#issuecomment-3950154317 using your GitHub account -- Sent via github-notify-ml as configured in https://github.com/w3c/github-notify-ml-config
